Kardan University's Faculty of Economics, in collaboration with the UN Volunteers (UNV) in Afghanistan, organized a workshop as part of the UNV program series on membership, volunteering, and benefits for youth careers, on July 15, 2021.
The workshop aimed to promote volunteerism among the students across universities in Afghanistan. It highlights Kardan University's collaboration with the international organizations to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Forty students from Kardan University and many more from other universities participated in this workshop, delivered by Mr. Abdul Basir Habibi, the UNV Country Deputy Director in Afghanistan.
"Volunteering is an ideal way to feel good when helping others and positively contributing to our community. It is a proven fact. We want our students to take part in voluntary activities and do their social responsibility," said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean for the Faculty of Economics.
At the end of the session, students could register themselves as UNV members and learn more about volunteerism in Afghanistan. They will be engaged in a wide range of UNV volunteering activities in Afghanistan and will receive assignments through this platform.
UNV program contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. They work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated, and well-supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote volunteerism's value and global recognition.
