Kardan University is ranked by the Times Higher Education Impact Rakings for two consecutive years for its commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Today, April 21, 2021, The Times Higher Education (THE) published the Impact Rankings 2021, recognizing global universities for their efforts towards achieving the SDGs. With more than 1240 universities from 98 countries submitting data across the 17 SDGs, The THE's Impact Rankings is the most accurate and biggest ever picture of universities' Impacts in the areas of research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching for the SDGs.
This year Kardan University has ranked 601+ world's leading universities. In the SDGs ranking, Kardan University is ranked 101-200 out of 591 universities for SDG 1: No Poverty, 401-600 out of 966 universities for SDG 4: Quality Education, 301-400 out of 685 universities for SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 401-601 out of 1154 universities for SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Kardan University has made sustainability a top priority for the university integrated with its' research, practices, teaching, and strategic partnerships. Kardan University's Sustainability Office is the first of its kind in Afghanistan, responsible for advancing the SDGs at the university and leading the process to plan, coordinate, and compile data for the university's application to THE Impact Rankings.
In 2020, Kardan University published its first SDGs report 2019-2020, highlighting the institution's contributions towards achieving the SDGs. Kardan University remains committed to achieving the SDGs and advancing these developmental goals across the university and at the national level.
