To achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly, SDG4: Quality Education and SDG17: Partnership for the Goals, Kardan University's Journalism and Mass Communication Department organized a training session on Peace Journalism for the students of Nai Media Institute on Monday, October 12, 2020, where more than 30 students participated.
Mir Mohammad Sediq Zaliq, the Academic Administrator of Journalism Department of Kardan University, conducted the much-anticipated training session. Mr. Zaliq emphasized improving Peace Journalism in the context of the Afghan Peace Process and the media's role in providing updates to the general public.
"Organizing workshops on Peace Journalism is significantly vital for the media to provide reliable, biased-free, and timely awareness to the general public about the progress in the Afghan Peace Process," Said Mr. Zaliq.
Following the University's educational initiatives to achieve inclusive and sustainable development goals, this is the second program conducted on Peace Journalism, which is of paramount importance in Afghanistan's context considering the ongoing peace negotiations in Doha Qatar.
