To learn international best practices to achieve SDGs, particularly SDG16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, Kardan University's Sustainability Office Coordinator, Mohammad Shams Formuly, attended at a virtual meeting 'UNA-NCA Coffee Chat: Women Building Peace' on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
This meeting was attended by senior leaders and local advocates from across the world to explore the current role of women in driving the peace and security agendas on the journey to forging a lasting peace across the globe.
Ms. Fatema Ahmadi, one of the speakers, stated, "we have implemented numerous campaigns for women in different provinces of Afghanistan to raise awareness about the peace process and women's role in bringing peace in Afghanistan." She also added that "empowering local women is the key to push the peace agenda from grassroots to national levels."
The meeting spotlights Kardan University's commitment to SDGs, particularly SDG16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG:17 Partnership for the Goals in a time that Afghan people have been demanding a sustainable and dignified peace for their country— where women's participation in the process has become a priority.
