The Directorate General for Regional Cooperation (DGRC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in collaboration with Kardan University, organized a seminar on "The Regional Cooperation in Afghanistan Foreign Policy: The Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process" on Saturday, October 10, 2020, in Conference Hall Taimani Campus.

To achieve the UN SDGs, particularly SDG17: Partnership for the Goals, the University organizes seminars and conferences open to the public covering a range of critical topics that benefits our students, people, and the community to expand their understanding of the current socio-economic and political issues, and come up with cohesive solutions.

"The launch of such seminars is essential in bridging the executive sectors with the educational sectors which will open ways for students to have an active role in the country's regional and international issues through research and participation. As a result, students not only learn concepts theoretically, but they will also learn them practically," said Mr. Ziaulhaq Tanin, DGRC Diplomat in the MoFA.

"Kardan University has always been a keep partner of the executive sector, focusing on offering students new learning opportunities. The Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process is an essential process for Political Science and International Relations students to gain practical insight on the contemporary sociocultural and political issues," said Fahim Sadat, MIR Academic Administrator.

The panel members discussed regionalism, regional cooperation, and regional integration—Afghanistan from buffer state to insular sate and a regional connectivity hub. They also talked about the Heart of Asia's strengths and weaknesses: Istanbul Process and future opportunities. There were comprehensive discussions on the seventh confidence-building measures and the eight one under Hearth of Asia; the Istanbul process has so far worked on.
