Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean Faulty of Economics of Kardan University, met with Mr. Hojat Fazli, CEO of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Afghanistan, to further discuss the feasibility of mutual cooperation and better implementation of the MoU, recently signed between Kardan University and the ICC on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
As part of our commitment to achieving SDGs, especially SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG17: Partnership for the Goals, Kardan University's partnership with ICC can help us extend our collaboration in implementing the SDGs and experience sustainable growth on different fronts.
"Two faculty members of the Economics Faculty will be given the SDGs Commission's membership to further work with the commission in policy development based on the MoU with the ICC- Afghanistan and Kardan University," said Mr. Fazli.
Dr. Moiz had proposed the idea of establishing the SDGs Commission in the ICC-Afghanistan structure, which has been forwarded to the ICC headquarter in Paris for approval. ICC's leadership firmly appreciated Economics Faculty's continuous support for achieving the SDGs in Afghanistan.
Three students from the economics faculty were given paid internship opportunities at ICC, which will be expanded to many interns in the future. Both sides selected their task-forces and defined their responsibilities for implementing the MoU, and a comprehensive action plan was developed covering multiple joint activities to be carried out.
