After a rigorous evaluation process that lasted for almost three years, Kardan University is accredited as the top ranked university among the five nationally accredited universities by Ministry of Higher Education, and 167 public and private universities and institutes of higher education as a whole.
Kardan University was the first private university in the country that completed first and second stages of candidacy periods with passing the benchmarks of 51 and 71 of national accreditation process and submitted the self-assessment report for the third and final stage of the accreditation. The peer reviewer team had the site visits of the university and submitted their recommendations and findings to the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Directorate of Ministry of Higher Education.
In August 2018, Kardan University became one of the only five universities in the country (from among 167 public and private universities) to obtain the national accreditation from Ministry of Higher Education. With the highest score of 89.54, Kardan University is the top ranked among the five nationally accredited institutions, namely Kardan University, American University of Afghanistan, Kandahar University, Kabul Medical University and Kabul University.
To commemorate this achievement, university leadership organized a special ceremony on August 15, 2018 at the conference hall of the Taimani campus. Speaking at the occasion, Kardan University’s Founder and Chancellor, Mr. Roeen Rahmani congratulated the management, staff and faculty for the great achievement and expressed Kardan University’s commitment towards further improving the quality of teaching and overall development of the higher education sector in the country. The Chancellor said: “Kardan University is the first private university in Afghanistan, and today, out of 167 public and private institutions of higher education, it stands at the top of only five universities with academic accreditation from MoHE. Now we will strive more and make it one of the best universities in the region.”
This year, along with the MoHE accreditation, Kardan University obtained memberships in the prestigious Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
