Qais Mohammadi, Academic Administrator for Kardan University’s Economics Department, has been named a regional recipient of the 2019 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. Mr. Mohammadi, along with other regional recipients has participated at the ACBSP Conference 2019 in Houston Texas to receive a Crystal Medallion described as the Best Teacher in South Asia.
The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) introduced the Teaching Excellence Award in 1995 for the first time aiming to recognize Best Teachers who exemplify teaching excellence in the classroom. ACBSP is the only international council which introduces its member organizations’ Best Teachers after going through a tough evaluation process.
The Selecting Committee for Best Teachers from different continents assesses and selects Best Teachers based on five major criteria such as Teaching and Learning, Professional Development, Flexibility and Variation in Teaching Style, Developing Curriculums, and Social Engagements.
Currently, more than 1100 educational institutions from 60 different countries have been accredited by ACBSP out of which 942 institutions have achieved their international accreditation. Meanwhile, another 150 educational organizations are candidate to obtain their academic accreditation from ACBSP. Individual members of this Accreditation Council already exceeds 13000 people.
Qais Mohammadi, being selected as the Best Teacher in South Asia is a source of pride for the Academic Community and Higher Educational Institutions of the country. The presence of the Afghan Teacher in world-class academic competitions, and earning the Best Teachers’ Award is a massive achievement.
