Kardan University's Economics Faculty students, in collaboration with Kabul University students, will participate in the South Asian Economics Students' Meet (SAESM) competition taking place regionally each year. Students from eight South Asian countries (Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives) will virtually meet and discuss economic-related challenges in their respective countries and the region during the spring 2021 semester. A collective team of students from Kardan University and Kabul University will represent Afghanistan in this regional meeting.

SAESM was founded in 2004 as a regional platform, bringing young and bright undergraduate economic students from across South Asia for an exciting conference in a South Asian city every year. During the meeting, undergraduates from all eight countries of the region learn, explore, and exchange ideas about the socio-economic challenges their countries and region face.

Kardan University consistently endeavors to provide educational workshops and practical work opportunities for students to achieve sustainable development goals, especially SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth in Afghanistan through the University's undertakings and initiatives.
