Kardan University’s Faculty of Economics Organizes an Orientation Session on UN Volunteers Program in Afghanistan to Promote Volunteerism among University Students

The Faculty of Economics at Kardan University, in collaboration with the UN Volunteers (UNV), organized an orientation session on UN Volunteers Program in Afghanistan for the students on April 12, 2021, to promote volunteerism among the University students.

Around 40 students participated in this session, delivered by Mr. Feroz Zalland, the UNV Country Director in Afghanistan. During the session, the students registered themselves for the UNV program.

“I can say with great pleasure that Kardan University students have the motive to join voluntary programs, and they have already done a large number of voluntary activities differently from other universities’ students,” said Feroz Zalland, UNV Country Director in Afghanistan.

With the new 4o registered students, the number of students from the Faculty of Economics as UN Volunteers has risen to eighty, which is a clear sign of volunteerism motivation among Kardan University’s students. Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz Mirzada, the Dean for the Faculty of Economics, said, “This program was aimed to promote volunteerism in Afghanistan, especially University students. By conducting such sessions, we want to motivate our students to participate in voluntary activities and gain international volunteerism experience.”
