I take this opportunity to welcome you all to the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) of Kardan University. Our goal at FSS is to train the future leaders of Afghanistan. Hence, we do not focus on teaching alone; we equally work with our students and faculty to enhance their practical skills and research capabilities. Kardan Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (KJSSH) is a testament to our to research as a priority.
Our degree programs are unique because they are tailored in a manner that brings modern knowledge to respond to the needs of Afghanistan. Our degree programs are offered in English Language in order to produce students who can respond to the market needs and prove their abilities in the job market. We are pleased to have successfully conducted a needs assessment for designing our curriculum and have implemented the new programs.
The Department of Master’s in International Relations (MIR) offers programs that are timely and vital for our country. National and international security, diplomacy, peace and conflict resolution, economic development and international trade are some of the specializations offered in this program, which is destined to provide skilled diplomats and peacebuilders to the Afghan and international arena.
The Department of Bachelor’s in Political Science & International Relations (BPS&IR) is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research by offering an undergraduate curriculum designed to provide students with a firm foundation and broad understanding of the discipline of Political Science and International Relations.
The Department of Journalism and Communication is a specially tailored program designed to produce enough capable professionals to meet the needs of the media sector. The focus in this department is on the contemporary dimensions of mass media and communication, and hence offer a specialization in New Media in addition to the traditional specializations.
