Afghanistan Representative to International Human Rights Commission

Elham Kohistani

Elham Kohistani is a human rights advocate for Gender Equality and Women's Rights. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences (BCS) from Kabul University, an ICT Diploma from Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute and a certificate in Entrepreneurship from Founder Institute. Currently, she is a master student of International Relations specializing in Peace and Conflict Resolution at Kardan University.

Kohistani is a research fellow of the Kautilya Programme, India Foundation and Afghanistan Representative to International Human Rights Commission, and she is a member of Emerging Civil Society Leaders and UNLEASH Global Innovation lab.

She started her career with a technology company as a board member of TechWomen Community and is a member of Afghan girl's in ICT network, Innovation Labs Afghanistan, startup weekend and founder of Afghanistan and Kapisa Youth club.

Ms. Kohistani has worked with renowned national and international organizations such as TechNation, HEWAD, Italian Cooperation, BRAC – Afghanistan, Counterpart International, Swedish Committee for Afghanistan, DFID, SIDA, USAID, and PostCode.
