Obaidullah Abdulhaq
Obaidullah Abdulhaq is the former Coordinator for International Information Programs, Red Cross, NewTimes Office for Coordination of Refugee Affairs, Copenhagen, Denmark.
A BBA graduate from Kardan University with a 3.76 CGPA, in 2014 Obaidullah Abdulhaq was admitted for another program of science in International studies at Roskilde University in Denmark and successfully completed his second degree in 2017. Afterwards, He successfully qualified for the Master’s (MSc) program in Social Sciences in International Development Studies and Global Studies in both Lund University in Sweden and Roskilde University in Denmark. Currently, He is pursuing the last year of his Master’s degree in the aforementioned Universities.
He is a professional with almost 10 years of experience in various governmental and International organizations. He had constantly been involved in finance and administration related activities between 2004 to 2013. He worked as a Coordinator at Red Cross, as an Admin & Finance Manager at the Ministry of Urban Development affair, as an Admin & Finance officer at Relief International, as an Inflow Officer at Kardan University, and as an Admin Officer at DACAAR.
Specifically, during his work with the public sector, he had managed the financial management of more than 50 small, medium and large-sized rehabilitation projects funded by World Bank, IMF, KFW and other international donors with an annual value of more than USD 700 million, and implemented by the Ministry of Urban Development Affairs, Afghanistan.
Moreover, as a Coordinator for International Information Program, he was assigned by line manager to ensure the necessary information to Asylum Seekers, Red Cross, and Danish society. He undertook the role of a facilitator to teach the asylum seekers about the conditions and various possibilities in Danish society. Subsequently, he developed a proper system with an attempt to transfer the real situation of asylum seekers to Danes and Red Cross. This assisted to resolve the misconceptions about asylum seekers’ conditions, as well as, filled the gap of information concerning the activities of asylum seekers in Denmark.
Nonetheless, since 2015, after obtaining full scholarship for his study programs, he prioritized his study over pursuing work. As he aimed to improve his skills with strong and competent education, with added value of doing it in an International environment alongside superb and diverse values and skills. As a result, he gained constant academic achievements and rich amount of positive feedbacks from his professors.
