Manager, Gender & Alumni Relations


Job Summary

Kardan University is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager for Gender and Alumni Relations who will oversee Kardan University’s alumni engagement priorities, including strategy, networking, database management and special initiatives. They will be expected to build and foster relationships between the university and its community of over 15000 graduates in order to strengthen alumni involvement across the university.

 

They will also be required to create gender awareness among staff and create gender equity in various programs at university level. The incumbent will also be responsible to discuss and come up with solutions to all issues related to gender discrimination at different management levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:    

  • Plan, execute and promote alumni programs that are in line with the university’s strategic plan.
  • Develop and ensure accurate alumni database records; obtain contact, biographical and career information of alumni through correspondence, websites, surveys, etc.
  • Build partnerships with alumni locally, nationally, internationally; maintain regular communication with them.
  • Manage and maintain alumni website and social media platforms.
  • Enhance alumni participation in university’s strategic plans, decision making and accessibility of career networking services.
  • Organize alumni events and provide guidance to alumni volunteers.
  • Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in programs
  • Encourage and support academic and other departments in undertaking events and communications which will promote good alumni relations
  • Alumni communication and publicity, including print and online publications targeted at alumni
  • Select and manage alumnus of the month, prepare and publish its poster and biodata on university social media pages and website
  • Promote and increase gender awareness.
  • Manage gender equity at various platforms and promote gender awareness across the university.
  • Manage and resolve gender related issues in consultation with various management levels
  • Facilitate actions that assist to build capacity for women and other gender groups to know and understand their roles in the university
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Gender Studies or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Gender or Alumni relations, or related field.
  • Strong organizational, conceptual, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively within a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of current higher education trends, particularly in the private sector.

Familiarity of higher education graduates, promotion and communication approaches.
