Abdul Wakil Hamidi
An MBA graduate (Gold Medalist) from Kardan University, Abdul wakil Hamidi had obtained his Master’s and Bachelor’s in Economics from International Islamic University, Islamabad-Pakistan before joining Kardan University.
During his professional career, Mr. Hamidi has worked at several prominent positions both at national and international organizations. For instance he has been the CEO of Afghanistan Leading Management Consultancy (ALMC), Director of Development Organization for Peace and Welfare (DOPW), Head of Finance at the Research Institute for Women, Peace and Security (RIWPS), Head of Admin and Finance at Women and Peace Studies Organization (WPSO), Finance Manager with Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA), Finance Advisor at Society Empowerment Organization (SEO), Islamic Finance Specialist at the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing.
Abdul Wakil has also served as a lecturer in several private universities within the country and has written on topics like the economy, history, sociology and human rights. He has received different awards and appreciation letters including the 40 Under 40 Award from Kardan University, Appreciation Letter from Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and Recognitions by Counterpart International and Research Institute for Women Peace and Security (RIWPS).
On the social side, Mr. Hamidi has been a member of the founding committees of 12 Civil Society Organizations and youth councils. He has provided trainings in finance and social media awareness to more than 1,500 young Afghans. He has also conducted seminars and campaigns on women empowerment, child abuse law, peace, education, elimination of violence, elections, justice, gender equality, blood donation, charity and volunteer work and anti-narcotics to thousands of direct and indirect beneficiaries. For the past eight years he has volunteered at different capacities such as Director of Afghan Youth Empowerment Council (AYEC), Director of Kabul Model United Nations (KMUN), Co-founder of National Commitment Society (NCS) and Pen and Message Youth Council (PMYC). He’s also an Active member of Kardan University Alumni Network, Senior Volunteer member of UNDP, Counterpart International, Election Commission and several other national and international organizations.
