Uranus Hasanzada
A 40 under 40 award winner of 2017, Ms. Uranus Hasanzada was born in 1988 in a pious family in Kabul Afghanistan. She went to school in the Panj-Sad Famili Area of KhairKhana district. After completion of her high school, Uranus was looking for a professional private university with highly qualified professors to pursue her higher education and chose Kardan University where she studied BS.c Economics and graduated in 2013.
Uranus is currently working with GIZ Risk Management Head Office. Besides that, she is the owner of Naab Cakes, a leading bakery in country which is introducing innovative designs and textures in cake making, rarely seen before in Afghanistan. Mother of three lovely children, Uranus has successfully managed her personal life besides her studies, business and a full time job.
Ms. Hasanzada started her career with Cisnet Global IT Solutions, a leading IT firm where she worked as Finance and Administration Assistant. She managed to learn all needed finance and office administration skills in the two years of her working with Cisnet Global and prepared herself to qualify for more challenging positions.
Uranus has worked with national and international organizations in different positions and in 2014 received an offer letter from GIZ program for the position of Deputy Finance Manager fortheir New Development Program Project.
Studying BS.c Economics at Kardan University made her realize that Afghan women can also do business and be good entrepreneurs and investors. With this she planned to start her unique business that is Naab Cakes. Naab Cakes is now one ofthe leading bakeriesin town which is owned and run by women. She only recruits women bakers and provides them with latest international techniques in baking unique cakes since she has attended several international trainings in bakery.
