Abstract
The present study covers the relative aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic and violence against women during the lockdown period in India. The analysis of the study is based on available data at the website of the National Commission for Women (NCW), Government of India. This suggests that the significant changes occurred in violence against women during the lockdown, leading to societal disturbance and impact upon Indian nationals. The list of possible violence against women is also presented in this work and discussed the challenges women and their families face. This study reveals that violence against women during the COVID-19 pandemic increased on selected indicators on violence against women in India, such as protection of women against domestic violence, right to live with dignity, harassment of married women/ dowry harassment, cybercrime against women, and rape/ attempt to rape.
