About Us

The Office of International Affairs & Strategic Partnerships (OIASP) at Kardan University is headed by a team of dedicated academic leaders, advised by the Vice Chancellor, and supported by the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee (SPAC). The committee is comprised of faculty Deans and representatives from other key units. The operations of this office are divided into the two main constituents of its title, i.e. International Affairs and Strategic Partnerships.

Kardan University recognizes that the most important element for developing meaningful national and international partnerships is to engage the university community in all aspects of the partnership. OIASP works with a variety of constituents in developing sustainable, collaborative relationships with institutions inside or outside of Afghanistan. It is our belief that partnerships should support the core mission of the university and contribute to bringing diverse and new perspectives to our academic community.

Many of the current international partnerships have capacity for growth in the areas of student exchanges, faculty/staff exchanges and collaborative research, training and consulting and SDG related collaboration. The priority for new national and international partnerships is to develop comprehensive, institutional or college-level partnerships that complement a wide-range of academic programs at Kardan University.

OIASP facilitates the process for developing new national and international partnerships at the departmental, college or institutional level. Prior to signing a formal agreement with an institution abroad, a number of issues are considered. The goal of this process is to ensure that ample communication is maintained at all levels in order to build a collaborative network of interested colleagues who will be involved in the mutually beneficial program implementation.

To institutionalize the process of establishing partnerships, the Strategic Partnerships Consultative Committee (SPCC) will function to prioritize strategic partnerships and internationalization activities, provide suggestions on potential partnerships, engage in the effective utilization of the existing partnerships, consult the office of “Strategic Partnerships and International Affairs” Office on outbound and inbound students, consult the “Strategic Partnerships and International Affairs” on Kardan University’s participation in International events and tours.
