Faculty of Law

Message from the Dean

Dear Visitors,

Due to the rapid development and progress of human societies, higher education is one of the basic rights of citizens and a factor in accessing modern knowledge, which is necessary for human society’s academic, cultural, social, economic, and political advancement. To achieve these goals, different disciplines have been established according to countries’ requirements and needs and provided academic services within the framework of their educational systems. Among all fields, the field of law has a special importance and position. The large presence of those interested in learning this field among the graduates of grades twelve and even higher than in the entrance exams of Kardan University is a witness to this statement.

Studying law creates the necessary capacity to draft, analyze, and correctly use legal rules and regulations regulating social relations. The graduates of this field have a superior and more suitable position than others because of their decisive role in the order of society.

Law graduates have a wide field of work and favorable employment opportunities in government legal institutions such as the Judiciary, Attorney’s Office, Independent Bar Association, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission, Human Rights Commission, Constitutional Oversight Commission, and all law departments of various ministries. They also have job opportunities in international institutions, law firms, and private institutions.

As the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Kardan University, I believe that learning the field of law with only theoretical training is not enough, but practical skills are an inseparable part of this field. To reach this goal (development of students' practical work), Kardan University's law faculty has also established a legal clinic, moot court, and criminal laboratory and is working to develop students' practical activities as much as possible.

Finally, the Faculty of Law has committed itself to training academic, professional, and expert personnel by providing standard higher education, so that in this way we can make a valuable contribution to improving the country's legal system at the national level and establishing Afghanistan's worthy position in international legal institutions.

With respect,

Khawaja Jamshid Siddiqi
Dean, Faculty of Law
