Kardan University Conducts a Training Workshop on Model United Nations (MUN)

During the Training Workshop on Model United Nations (MUN) in Parwan-e-Du Campus

Kardan University, in collaboration with Youth Thinkers' Society (YTS), conducted a two-day training workshop on Model United Nations (MUN) and discussed awareness creation, localization, and implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Afghanistan on October 21 and 22, 2020, in Parwan-e-Du Campus.

Founded in 2016, Youth Thinkers' Society is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that focuses on leadership development and youth capacity building through active volunteer engagement and participation worldwide.

The training sessions revolved around essential topics. YTS introduced the SDGs and how Kardan University students can contribute to YTS opportunities, especially National Youth Symposium and Conferences on the SDGs. The session also focused on Model United Nations (MUN), which provides opportunities for the youth to delegate controversial global issues to propose solutions for these issues through collaboration and cooperation.

Meanwhile, many Kardan University students registered themselves with YTS to become MUN Afghanistan members and propose their opinions and voices to the world's major issues, including the SDGs. YTS has committed itself to cooperate with Kardan University students in their MUN conferences and National Youth Symposiums and Conferences on the SDGs. Additionally, participating students learned how to improve their analytical skills such as information analysis and critical reading, brainstorming, resolution writing rules, lobbying, negotiating, and more during the sessions.

Kardan University realizes the impact and importance of such collaborations in implementing SGDs in Afghanistan, especially SDG17: Partnership for the Goals and SDG4: Quality Education. YTS is yet another pioneer organization working to facilitate the implementation of SDGs in Afghanistan and across the globe.
