Mr. Mirwais Nahzat, Kardan University’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), met with Mohammad Nabi Sroosh, the Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs of the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, on Saturday, September 26, 2020. The meeting was aimed at establishing a mutual relationship between the two organizations and expanding collaborations regarding the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Afghanistan.
The two sides emphasized on having cooperations in the areas of academics, education, and research aimed at integrating the SDGs. They agreed on having long term collaboration in achieving these goals as educational institutions such as Kardan University play a significant role in providing awareness about the SDGs and its implementation. Doing so will allow these organizations to address the root cause of slow development and find opportunities to rais awareness about SDGs and involve the private sector, civil society, and ordinary people in this mission.
“Achieving SDGs is of paramount importance for us, and recruiting international professionals on SDGs can intensify the process of raising awareness and training national professionals is essential for the process,” said Mr. Sroosh.
As the most recognized academic institution in Afghanistan, Kardan University remains fully committed to achieving the SDGs and encourages government and non-government institutions to take part actively in implementing these goals.
