Kardan University's Sustainability Office conducted an information session on sustainability and the Impact Ranking 2021 for the academic staff on Monday, August 17, from 2-3:30 pm. The main objective of this gathering was to provide awareness to the academic staff about the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Kardan University's application for Impact Ranking 2021.
Representatives from the Research and Development Department, Quality Assurance Office, International Affairs and Strategic Partnerships Office, Faculty Deans and Program Coordinators of the university had participated in the session.
As Afghanistan's first academic institution being ranked in Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, Kardan University is listed in the 601+ out of the world's leading universities with demonstrated impact around three specific areas: research, outreach, and stewardship.
This year, Kardan University is applying for four UN SDGs, including SDG1' No Poverty', SDG4' Quality Education', SDG8' Decent Work and Economic Growth', and SDG 17' Partnership for the Goals', respectively.
The University's Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs, Faculty Deans and academic members showed their full commitment to provide data for the university's application for Impact Ranking 2021. They will also enhance the support needed to integrate sustainability across the university and its different extra and co-curricular initiatives.
