Google Developer Group Kabul organized DevFest 2019 at Chilsitoon Palace on Thursday, November 21, 2019. The first DevFest was hosted by Kardan University in 2018, whereas, this year, the University was the diamond sponsor of the event.
The DevFest 2019 was designed especially for computer science students and developers. Some 400 students from across universities, educational institutes, and high schools had participated in this event, including 30 students from Kardan University.
The one-day program was conducted in two separate sessions, the first of which was allocated for presentations and speeches from different ICT companies and University lecturers. The presentations covered topics such as Afghan Women in Tech, Sentiment Analysis, Automation with Ansible, Digital Marketing, and the Business of Broadcasting in the Digital Age.
Meanwhile, the second session covered by hands-on labs for practical work on Web Development, Mobile Application Development, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning.
Among the speakers, Abdul Baqi Popal represented Kardan University and spoke about Kardan University’s Computer Science Department and the university’s efforts and active participation in such events to boost students' capacity and equip them with the required computer skills.
