Students of the Faculty of Law paid a visit to Kabul’s Pul-e-Charkhi prison on August 6, 2019. The purpose of the visit was to help students enhance learning and better understand the issues surrounding criminology, and related subjects. They also had a chance to observe the inmates’ situation in person.
Both male and female students visited male and female sections of the prison facility respectively. They also talked with some prisoners about the overall condition of the prison and the facilities available to inmates and their visitors.
The students described the visit very informative and effective in terms of understanding the conditions in the country’s largest prison facility and some of the rules and principles put in place for the inmates.
