The Faculty of Economics at Kardan University in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), hosted a team of UN Volunteers, led by UNV Country Supervisor, Mr. Aimal Fayaz Zalland, on July 17, 2019. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize Kardan University students with the UN Volunteers program, its benefits, and the prospect of becoming UN Volunteers. Thirty-five students from (MBA, BBA, BS. Economics) departments participated in the session.
UN Volunteers is UNDP’s international initiative which enables individuals from a wide range of backgrounds to indulge in volunteer activities in different parts of the world. Currently, participants from Kardan University are signed up as online volunteers. They will be available for task assignments which can be implemented in their spare time.
The membership also provides the newly registered volunteers the following benefits:
• Access to UNDP’s E-Campus, an international educational database giving its members access to thousands of online courses free of charge.
• The opportunity to count the work with UN Volunteers as practical work experience (certified by UN)
• Being considered for placement opportunities in UN agencies on a priority basis
• Ability to experiment with different types of work and better decide about future career
