Kardan University Journalism and Communications Students in collaboration with students from other faculties gathered in Taimani district of Kabul city and expressed their full support for building a green environment. First and fourth semester students of Journalism and Communications Faculty, members of civic associations, and Student Ambassadors of Kardan University held signs reading ‘keep the environment clean, cultivate and maintain flowers in the street vase pots, avoid using plastic bags, throw garbage in the right place, limit water consumption, and produce less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere’ are everyone’s civic obligations.
Academic Administrator, Members of Journalism and Communications Department of Kardan University, voice deputy of Kabul Municipality and a number of Traffic Police officers played an active role in this campaign. Some students emphasized and expressed their concerns on using paper bags instead of plastic ones, and distributed paper bags to drivers, passersby, students, and residents.
This campaign has been covered by a number of media, and will possibly be circulated in social media for the next week or so. Furthermore, flowers and printed posters were distributed among drivers carrying the message of coexistence and keeping the environment clean. This campaign was launched with the purpose of convincing people to maintaining a clean environment and was warmly appreciated by Kabul residence.
