Kardan University was honored to welcome His Excellency Mr. Manpreet Vohra, the Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan, for inauguration of its Research Center at the Kardan School of Graduate Studies.
Mr. Vohra was joined, for the inauguration, by Mr. Enayatullah Fazli, CEO Azizi Bank, who have sponsored the Research Center’s establishment. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Narinder Shah Singh, Director Education Wing at the Indian Embassy and Mr. Samrat Dutta, COO Azizi Bank.
The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Roeen Rahmani, President Kardan University, Mr. Mahmood Dastgeer, Chancellor and Mr. Khalilullah Ahadi, Director Student Services, along with faculty and staff from Kardan University.
The Research Center is equipped with 30 high end computers which are linked to the world's premier digital library EBSCOHOST, giving students and faculty access to more than 650,000 books, research articles, journals and magazines from around the world. The center is also affiliated with the IMF digital library and the ACKU research center at Kabul University.
After inaugurating the Research Center, Mr. Vohra walked through different parts of the university and met with staff and faculty members. He praised Kardan University’s quality of service and facilities and applauded Azizi Bank for its contribution towards furthering the cause of research and development in the country. He emphasized the importance of research for advancing in the fields of science and technology and termed it a major pillar in any university’s contribution towards development and intellectual prosperity in the society.
Mr. Fazli also expressed Azizi Bank’s desire and commitment to help and provide long term support to more such endeavors.
