In collaboration with Kardan University, Kabul municipality with the support of UN-HABITAT, is planning to arrange a two-day national conference on New Vision for the City in Kabul Polytechnic University on March 15, 2020. The Municipality is accepting research papers and concept notes for the mentioned conference on the thematic areas listed below. Kardan University will be leading the first thematic area i.e. Urban Economy. Representatives from the Faculty of Economics will be part of the selection board finalizing the concept notes and research articles for the conference.

Thematic Areas for the Conference:
1. Urban Economy
a. Use of sustainable energy
b. Revenue
c. Fundraising
d. Private sector partnership optimal use of municipal property

2. Urban Planning and Development
a. Urban design framework
b. Urban development
c. Improvement of unplanned areas
d. Land use planning

3. Urban Planning and Development
a. Municipal waste management
b. Urban beautification
c. Green landscape

4. Urban Security
5. Urban Culture
6. Equal Participation of Women in Urban Management

Interested students, alumni, faculty and university staff are invited to send their concept papers related to any of the above mentioned topics by the 10th of February 2020, to the email address d.haidary@kardan.edu.af.
