Computer Science Students Start an Internship Program at the Ministry of Communications and IT

The Office of Career Services at Kardan University introduced 16 female students from the Bachelor’s in Computer Science department to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) for an internship program entitled ‘Empowering Women in the Digital Age.’ The program will last for one month.

The candidates successfully passed the initial interview and were invited to participate in the Kick-off ceremony organized by the ministry. Students from four other (Kabul, Kateb, Ibn-e-Seena, and Poly Technique) universities in Kabul were also part of the program. The ceremony was held at Kabul Star Hotel, on December 12, 2019.

Mr. Amjad Khan, the Academic Administrator of BCS Department and Mr. Amin Hakimi, Manager, Office of Career Services, represented Kardan University management at the ceremony.

The students also had a chance to meet Dr. Hadi Hedayati, Deputy Administration and Finance Minister at MCIT Afghanistan, where he appreciated the participation of Kardan University students in such programs.

Participants interns also expressed their pleasure for being a part of the program. Sadia, a BCS stduents, said: “working at a government ministry is a valuable opportunity for gaining practical knowledge about how these institutions operate”. “This program will be a great help in our career development,” stated Arezu, another BCS student.

The interns are being trained and oriented with the work environment of MCIT departments and will hopefully be employed at the end of the internship program.
