Book Review Competition

Kardan University Library would like to launch a book review competition for undergraduate students, and also welcomes participants from other universities. A workshop will be organized for the participants to understand the concept of book review better and to write a fine book review.

Those interested in participating in this competition are required to read the book “Why Nations Fail” by Daron Acemoglu, and write a review on their own words. The review can be either in local languages (Dari/Pashto) or English Language. The submitted reviews will be observed and marked by the expert panel.

Submission Rules

  • The document must be submitted in MS word format
  • Word limit- 1200 to 1500 words
  • Should be in the form of a summary
  • Font – Times New Roman
  • Font size -14(Heading), 12 (Text size), spacing 1.5
  • Plagiarism limit-15%, the review will be disqualified if exceed the requisite limit

Awards

  • All the participants whose reviews are considered will receive a certificate of participation
  • The top three winners will be awarded a certificate of appreciation and a set of books
  • The top three winners profile will be promoted in Kardan University social media
  • The first position holder review will be published in the Ganjeena Magazine of Kardan University

Registration Guideline

  • Registration open date is on Monday, September 28, 2020
  • Registration closing date is on Thursday, October 8, 2020
  • Registered candidates will receive the book PDF on Saturday, October 10, 2020
  • The last date to submit the review is on Saturday, October 31, 2020
