Sales at Hamza Pharma Grow After Consultation by Kardan University Students

Kardan University students, Ataullah Rahmatzai and Sayeed Nabi Hashemi, conducted their research project on the vulnerable areas of Hamza Pharma, a pharmaceutical company that imports medical products. Upon completion of their comprehensive research, the strengths and weaknesses of the company were identified, and relevant recommendations were suggested to help the company improve its standing in the market.

Hamza Pharma imports a variety of medical products from Pakistan and Turkey. In recent years, it faced a steady decline in its sales and revenue. The issue was taken up by Kardan University students in order to find out the reasons for the decline. After considering the recommendations provided by the students, the company’s sales and revenue gradually took off, and it is in a much better situation now.

Ataullah Rahmatzai, one of the students involved in the project said “when we decided to conduct our final project report on the sales’ situation of Hamza Pharma, we contacted the company’s management and they explained how it was going through major problems. Their records showed that sales had increased in the years 2015 and 2016. However, a gradual decline was evident in 2017 and 2018. The forecasts showed a further decline with the possibility of a complete shut down by the end of 2019.”

Rahmatzai also added, “we had a comprehensive analysis of all the challenges, including problems in the sales team, lack of coordination among departments, mismanagement, and overspending.”

The other project team members, Sayed Nabi Hashemi, said, “We identified drawbacks and suggested solutions that helped reduce the company expenses by up to 60%. In the second stage, in-efficient employees were substituted with more experienced, professional ones with some improvement in the compensations too.”

At present, the company is witnessing a steady growth in its sales which are forecasted to increase by up to 60% by the end of this year.

The company leadership formally appreciated the efforts of the students in a special ceremony.
