Impacts of COVID-19: The Economy in the World and Afghanistan

Kardan University’s Faculty of Economics organized an online seminar on the “Impacts of COVID-19: The Economy of the World and Afghanistan” for students of this faculty, conducted through Zoom on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Dr. Nematullah Bizhan, Professor at the Australian National University (ANU), delivered the virtual seminar. He discussed the economic impacts of the pandemic on families, firms, the government, and international trade at large. More than 90 students participated in the session and gained practical insight into the economic challenges the pandemic has caused.

“I found the seminar quite exciting and gained useful insight on the economic impacts of the COVID-19 and how it has affected people’s lives and the wider community”, Said one participating student.

Dr. Bizhan concluded the seminar with a Q&A session during which he responded to the questions and concerns of students and faculty members, respectively. Participating students appreciated the collective efforts of the Economics Faculty and Kardan University for organizing such virtual seminars.
