To streamline our students' activities around SDGs and SDGs education, the Sustainability Office of Kardan University conducted an orientation session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to SDGs Youth Ambassadors Club on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in Parwan-e-Du Campus.
More than 30 students from across the University's departments, including bachelor and master level programs, have the SDGs Ambassadors Club membership. Club members received an orientation to the SDGs and pledged to be SDGs ambassadors inside Kardan University and beyond.
The session aimed to provide awareness to the club members about SDGs and sustainability activities to engage their classmates, friends, family, and community in achieving these goals. Participating students brainstormed and came up with multiple creative activities to be implemented outside the University
"We are committed to institutionalizing SDGs in everything we do, particularly our student activities, through partnering with UN Volunteers and other international organizations. UNV will provide training for our SDGs Ambassadors Club members so that they become SDG experts," said Mohammad Shams Formuly, Sustainability Engagement Coordinator at Kardan University.
Seven club members nominated themselves as club representatives and spoke about their achievements, leadership skills, and volunteer activities. Subsequently, two SDGs Ambassadors Club representatives were elected through a transparent selection process. Soon the members will be introduced to the UN Volunteers to get professional training and become SDGs experts.
