The Departments of BBA and Economics at Kardan University organized an online competition on the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan through Zoom on Monday, April 27, 2020, at 2:00 PM.
Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean, Faculty of Economics and Engineer Amirzada Ahmadzai, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology were the observers of the program. At the same time, some 82 students from across departments had participated in the competition.
To make the process transparent, Mr. Mohammad Yousef Alkozai represented as the internal referee and Shams-Ur-Rehman Forotan, the country’s leading religious scholar as the external judge. Engineer Gul Rahman, Administrator of the Engineering Department, started the competition by reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Out of 82 participants, 30 students were able to qualify for the second round by answering the questions correctly. Engineering students secured the first place with 5 points, girls team of BBA Department, the second place with 4.90 points, and boys side of the same Department, the third place with 4.70 points, respectively. In addition to winning awards, the winners of the first, second, and third places were given five bonus marks in Islamic Studies.
Samira Guwhari, a student of Journalism and Mass Communications Department of Kardan University, said, “organizing such online seminars is of paramount importance for the students, and I have learned new lessons from this seminar.”
Since the beginning of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, Kardan University has regularly organized virtual seminars covering a variety of topics to help students continue their studies using available technologies and experience new learning methods.
