ICAMR 2024: Exploring Challenges and Opportunities in Sustainable Development in Afghanistan

Kardan University proudly hosted its annual International Conference on Applied Multi-disciplinary Research under the theme, “Challenges and Issues of Sustainable Development in Afghanistan.”

The event brought together esteemed professors, national and international researchers, academicians from public and private universities, students, policy makers, delegates of national and international organizations and dignitaries from public and private sectors of Afghanistan, including Dr. Lutfullah Khairkhwa, Deputy Minister (Academics) of the Ministry of Higher Education; Dr. Shakir Jalaly, CEO Bank-e-Millie Afghan (BMA); Dr. Hameedullah Muzammil, Director, Research and Authorship, MoHE; Mawlawi Ahmadullah Hammad, Director, Academic Supervision, MoHE; Shaker Waheedy, Director Quality Assurance and Accreditation, MoHE; and Dr. Ahmad Khalid Hatam, Chancellor, Kardan University.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Syed Enayatullah Suhrabi, Communication Officer at Kardan University. Following this, Mr. Khawaja Jamshid Sediqi, the Academic Voice Chancellor at Kardan University, welcomed the guests and provided essential information regarding the conference.

Subsequently, Dr. Ahmad Khalid Hatam, the Chancellor of Kardan University, delivered a speech on the significance and role of this conference in promoting sustainable development in Afghanistan.

Furthermore, Dr. Lutfullah Khairkhwa, the Academic Deputy of the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan, expressed gratitude to Kardan University for its valuable role in sustainable development and for identifying challenges in this regard.

This prestigious conference showcased innovative research contribution from scholars worldwide, presented both online and in person. Topics spanned critical areas such as Environmental and Financial Sustainability, Policy and Societal Development, mining, agriculture and livestock, poverty, and Innovation for a Sustainable Future and a wide array of topics that are covered by UN SDGs.

During the conference, a total of 49 papers were submitted in the fields of financial development, policy and society, and environmental sustainability. Out of these, 15 papers were selected for presentation in the main hall.

Researchers presented their papers in designated rooms, after which the chair of each session summarized the findings of the papers.
