Kardan University Journalism Students Visit Ariana TV

Students from the Journalism Department visited Ariana TV and Ariana Radio to gain familiarity with the work environment of media, recording and production studios of different programs.

Mir Mohammad Sediq Zaliq, Head of Journalism and Communication Department, Ajmal Ghafoori, Supervisor of Kardan University Studio and Khushal Assifi, General Manager of Ariana TV accompanied the students in this visit.

One of the students said about the visit, “We learned about the practical use of recording devices which we had studied about in class. We acquired practical lessons about the media environment and how media outlets operate their daily programs.”

Besides introducing different sections of Ariana TV, Mr. Assifi, elaborated on the profession of reporting for radio and television, reporting and recording news, as well as administrative and technical divisions of the channel.

“One of the Journalism Department’s goals is to facilitate practical learning along with theory in the field of reporting for students, which requires the organization of such field visits,” said Mr. Sediq Zaliq.

During this field visit, students asked questions about the nature of media, reporting methodologies, and program production, which were answered by experts respectively. Students described the active engagement of Ariana TV quite effective in covering sociocultural, political and global issues through its many programs.

A field visit is described as an effective learning approach in the modern education context. Therefore, Kardan University provides such opportunities for its students, so that they gain comprehensive understanding of both practical and theoretical aspects of their fields of study.
