Kardan University, as a leading university for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Afghanistan, feels responsible for undertaking education outreach activities in the local community. Therefore, Kardan University's CISCO Lab conducted a four-month-long training on "Routing & Switching" for students from various universities across Kabul, including Kardan University, Kabul University, Bakhtar University, Rana University, Salaam University, and Kabul Polytechnic University. The program was initially commenced on September 26, 2020, as a part of Kardan University's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4: Quality Education.
During the first three months, 38 students were trained theoretically and practically in the CISCO Lab from basic to advanced routing and switching topics. After the training completion, 19 students were provided with the certificates after successfully designing, configuring, documenting, and presenting an intermediate Campus Area Network (CAN).
"The 4-month Network training of CISCO Lab in Kardan University was a great opportunity for achieving our goals through better knowledge in the networking field. I appreciate Kardan University's Computer Science Department for accumulating these opportunities for all students who are not studying at Kardan University," said Sawdia Rustam, Kabul University student.
Ahmad Seerat Sahak Peroz, a student from Kardan University, said: "I'm honored to say that we have completed an efficient training held by Kardan University's CISCO Lab – Routing & Switching. The training was professionally and effectively delivered to us by Mr. Ahmadullah Azizi in conceptual and practical methods. We had the experience of working with different networking devices, which will help us utilize those skills while working in organizations."
The CISCO lab facility at Kardan University enables Computer Science students, especially those studying networking related subjects, to practice the theories they learn in class. The lab ultimately prepares the students for going ahead for CISCO Certifications, which have high credibility worldwide. There are various levels of CISCO certifications, which include the Associate, Professional and Expert levels.
