Kardan University Recognizes the Achievement of Top Students


Kardan University recognized the academic achievements of 96 top students from different departments, by awarding them scholarships and excellence certificates during a special ceremony held on Thursday, October 24, 2019, in the conference hall at Taimani Campus.

Mr. Roeen Rahmani, Chancellor, Ms. Meena Rahmani, Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs, Heads of Department, students, and their families participated in the event.

In his speech, the Chancellor said, “Kardan University holds this program twice a year to appreciate the academic achievements of students. Being the best is challenging but enjoyable and rewarding. Currently, 169 private and public universities are operating in Afghanistan, and Kardan is the best among them. So, you have been selected the best students at the best university”.

He added, “Young, motivated, and energetic students pursue their higher education at Kardan University, and you have made it to the top from among 5600 students; this shows that you are coming to this institution with extra motivation to help yourselves and others alike. We, therefore, congratulate you and your families on this great achievement.”

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid will be offering merit scholarships to the top 40 students with outstanding performance.

Omer Sapi, a Journalism student and recipient of the Academic Excellence Award says, “I have received several appreciation awards, but I am really delighted to be among the best students today. I am truly thankful to Kardan University for organizing such events to recognize the accomplishments of its students.”

Saara, an eighth-semester student of Computer Science stated, “I am extremely pleased that my efforts have paid off, and I have learned enough over the past four years. The encouragement of the teachers and the university leadership and the initiation of such programs have helped me work hard and perform better.”

Students’ family members also thanked Kardan University leadership for providing high-quality education and recognizing the students’ academic achievements through special ceremonies.

Kardan University appreciates the achievement of top students by offering scholarships at the end of each semester. In 2018, the University offered Afs. 22 million as scholarship grants to 1500 students, whereas in 2019, 2400 eligible students received a total of Afg. 34 million.
