Sughra Sadat

Ms. Sughra Saadat was born in 1988 in Afghanistan. She completed her high school in Kabul and graduated from the Political Science Faculty of Kabul University. From 2006 to 2007, she worked in Alkawsar Training center as teacher of social science, focusing on training curriculum and teaching students on social science. In the same year, she was teaching illiterate elder women to help them to read and write in Dari.

In 2008, she worked as Head Master in Ufuq high school and focused on leading the teachers as well as coordinated educational issues with Ministry of education. She was also responsible for reviewing the curriculum and its proper implementation in the school. In the same year, she worked as supervisor in a project funded by JICA and implemented by civil society organization. The project was aimed at educated illiterate women and girls who missed to go to school. The project helped 2000 women to continue their formal education in school.

From 2009 to 2017, she has worked in Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA), where she held several positions, focusing on election observation, women political participation, and strengthening of civil society organizations in democratic process. During her stay in TEFA, she has written up several training manuals and traveled to 25 provinces of Afghanistan.

She has attended several training programs in her work career, which helped her to promote and become the lead member for TEFA. She is influent in Dari, English, and Pashtu with strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to engage in high-level discussions. She often appears on national and international media as an independent commentator and has represented Afghan civil society in many national and international forums.
