Information Technology Assistant

Reporting to IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing assistance to computer lab system across campuses of Kardan University. You will provide development and maintenance services and will perform basic trouble shooting, including course specific software and printer maintenance. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean quiet work area for students.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer system hardware, peripherals and software.
  • Train students and help teachers in using hardware and software.
  • Assist teachers in integrating technology with curriculum.
  • Assist students and teachers with printing and word processing problems.
  • Research new computer programs which may enhance computer-aided instruction and make recommendations on new hardware/software.
  • Order parts and supplies required for computer labs.
  • Set up and maintain the computer lab.
  • Update the inventory section of all computer equipment and software in the labs.
  • Establish computer labs’ rules procedures in coordination with relevant department.
  • Prepare requisitions for computer hardware and software purchases.
  • Assist in the development of the computer lab schedule.
  • Assist at training sessions for teachers and other staff.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining computers throughout the university.
  • Administer the Local Area Network (LAN) and connections to the Wide Area Network (WAN) of labs.
  • Assist IT officers with daily campus IT troubleshooting and installation of printers, scanners, PC setup, cabling and ducting as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computers sciences or student of computers science.
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT network related environment
