Faculty of Engineering and Technology

Message from the Dean

There is no better place in Afghanistan to be an engineer “The term engineering is derived from the Latin ingenium, meaning "cleverness" and ingeniare, meaning "to contrive, devise" - See glossary of engineering”.

Those who work in technical disciplines where they apply technical and scientific knowledge use the laws of nature and natural and human resources to create materials, constructions, machines, facilities, systems and processes that meet security and functional criteria with respect to the economy, society and the environment, is called an Engineer, usually requiring proof of competence to do so, such as an engineering diploma. Engineers use imagination, estimation and reasoning to use mathematics, science, technology, and practical experience in designing, manufacturing, testing and operating useful things and processes. Engineering includes many specializations that deal with problems related to the development of a particular product type or the use of a particular technology.

Kardan Engineering and Technology educate students to be leaders in the development and use of multidisciplinary approaches and technology to solve complex, socially critical problems. We are committed to Excellence in Technology and Engineering.

Over the next few semesters, the Engineering and Technology faculty will grow the student body and expand the size of faculty. This expansion will allow us to better serve the people of Afghanistan and to accommodate many more of the talented applicants who seek to attend Civil Engineering and Computer Science programs at Kardan University.

I’m motivated to provide a culture of service to our students, so that we may continue to develop the next generation of world-class engineers. I’m honored to be part of a team of people who aren’t just about making something happen, but making something better. I am very excited about the future of Kardan Engineering and Technology faculty. I look forward to working with our students, faculty, alumni and friends to lead our faculty to new heights. I invite you to learn more about our transformative programs and the many opportunities that the Kardan Faculty of Engineering and Technology provides. Please join us on this journey.
