Roeen Rahmani is the founder and President of Kardan University.
In 2002, Mr. Rahmani helped lay the foundation of Kardan University as the first private university in the history of Afghanistan.
Through visionary leadership and relentless investments, he has transformed the institution into the most trusted and respected university in Afghanistan.
As the President of Kardan University, Mr. Rahmani has led the strategic advancement of the university, helped achieve Kardan University's international accreditation through the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) and played an impactful role in shaping the higher education policies in Afghanistan.
Mr. Rahmani has led several major innovative initiatives at Kardan University, including the strengthening of international partnerships, development of a strategic plan focused on a vision of excellence and inspiring thousands of students towards innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development.
He is recognized as a leader in the national higher education sector having previously served as the elected chair of the Association of Private Universities in Afghanistan for over two years.
Before founding Kardan University, Mr. Rahmani worked as a consultant with leading national and international institutions, including the World Bank, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Bearing Point.
An award-winning poet and professor, Mr. Rahmani received MBA degrees from Preston University (Pakistan) and York University (Canada) respectively. In 2018 he was granted an honorary doctorate degree by the Commonwealth University of South America.
