Examination and Evaluation Rules
1.1 Out of a total of 100 marks for each subject, 50% marks
are allocated for internal assessment and the remaining 50% for external evaluation.
1.2 The minimum marks required for passing in a subject 60%.
1.3 Internal evaluation is done by the teacher concerned and
is based on the student’s performance on the following
(a) Mid term Test (b) assignments (c) Quizzes
(d) Group discussion/class participation
(e) Attendance (f) Presentation (h) other
methods
1.4 External evaluation is done by Kardan Institute of Higher
Education, based on student’s performance in the final examination.
1.5 During all tests and examinations, strict discipline is
maintained and violation of rules and regulations and use of unfair means may lead
to disqualification from the examination, the semester or the entire program. The
decision of the teacher/invigilator/supervisor shall be final and binding on the
students concerned.
1.6 The Grade Point Average (GPA) is determined by allocating
the grade points to the respective grades obtained, and using the following formula:
GPA= Sum of Grade Points for all Subjects

The GPA is then measured on a scale of 0.0 – 4.0
Students in all programs are graded according to a unified grading system. The percentage
points corresponding to a particular grade and its verbal description are given
below:

1.6.1 Minimum GPA Requirement
The Grade Point Average (GPA) is measured on a scale of 0 – 4.
The minimum cumulative GPA requirement for Diploma in English programs is 2.0. If
the cumulative GPA falls below this requirement, the student must repeat appropriate
courses to raise the GPA to the minimum required level, in order to be eligible
for the award of diploma.
